The washers are low-wear and have an up to 30% longer service life compared to some comparable spare parts. All variants: Allround, RAC and EC-offroad discs, consist of extremely dimensionally stable and hardened steel. The precise surface grinding (thickness deviation of 2 / 100mm) avoids vibrations and improves the adaptation of the linings. A uniform temperature rise and fall allows for a constant pressure point. The floating brake discs have titanium-anodised aluminum rings machined from aluminum. Floating discs do not rattle, because the high-quality stainless steel floaters are held in tension with corrugated discs. A new special alloy prevents excessive corrosion. The new rotors feature EBC’s unique and patented S-Drive button system which features square sided rivets captured in square drive pockets on the rotor and hub which allow the outer rotor blade to expand and contract freely under the heat of braking without suffering rivet lock. Rivet lock is the term used when rotors heat up under heavy braking and the rotor blade contacts the (normally circular) rivets that separate the inner rotor hub and the outer rotor blade. The new EBC system completely eliminates this problem area which causes 100% of the failures of rotors suffering from distortion and brake vibration. When installing your new Rezo brake discs – you will need to offset the rotor buttons so they are not mirrored left to right and if possible, we recommend fitting new disc bolts which should be tightened to OEM factory torque specifications. Breaking your new discs in – will take some time; you should especially bare this in mind the first time you ride your bike after fitting. Rezo discs usually take 100 miles to break in and you will notice them getting better the more you use them. Breaking them in should be done with gradual breaking at various speeds over time. Before fitting new pads – make sure the brake caliper pistons and any slider pins are free and working correctly, if they are stiff or seized they will need to be cleaned or replaced before you continue. A caliper that is seized or not working correctly can result in the pads not retracting from the disc, causing an excess of heat to build which cannot be dispersed in the necessary time, leading to disc warping.
